Bolts must cut down on mistakes to shake off slow start

Except for Philip Rivers’ gaudy passing yardage, not much is going right for the Chargers. Letting Seattle’s Leon Washington return kickoffs 101 and 99 yards for touchdowns were the most glaring of several mistakes in a 27-20 road loss Sunday for the Chargers, who are off to another slow start under coach Norv Turner.

Thomas’ knee surgery further weakens Chargers’ offensive line

The San Diego Chargers’ offensive line suffered another blow Tuesday when left tackle Tra Thomas had arthroscopic knee surgery, which the San Diego Union-Tribune reported could keep him out of action for two weeks.
